Artist Statement

“CHALLENGED TO RECREATE THE POETRY OF LIGHT
AND ITS’ EVER CHANGING SEASONS ON CANVAS”

Nature provides us with an unlimited, fresh, and ever changing palette. I strive to capture the feeling of the day and character of my subject as it touches my soul. The final impact of my painting hopefully relays my emotions to others as they too can experience and enjoy God’s precious gifts given to all

I begin by building excitement of color through a solid foundation of evocative grays, value, and shape relationships. Though rhythm, texture, and line, the story begins to unfold triggered by the experience nature provides me at a given point in time.

I believe the artist’s responsibility is a life long study. A constant search for higher levels of expression is sought through knowledge and experience.

I hope to constantly strive to apply my paint with controlled yet exciting brushwork. I seek to perfect my skills to best share with others the excitement life has to offer through the wonderful world of art.
